CITYSTATEZIP: Eau Claire, WI 54701
EDUCATION: Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University
OCCUPATION: Retired from 30 years as a clinical psychologist, teaching, counseling, and administering counseling
services at four universities. In retirement, published my memoir ("To The Left of Inspiration: Adventures in Living
with Disabilities") and a children's book ("Your Treasure Hunt: Disabilities and Finding Your Gold"). Active volunteer
on community boards and public speaker on disability issues.
INVOLVEMENT: Listener for over 30 years and contributor for at least 10 years.
WHYSERVE: It's a major source of news, information and enjoyment for me. In retirement I'm enjoying giving back
to causes and services that have given to me.
REPRESENTATION: I often speak about programs I've heard on public radio, both in casual conversation and when giving
lectures. This encourages others to listen. I'm comfortable talking about my charitable giving (including WPR) and
encourage others to give by example. In committee work, I'm a working member and willing to email legislators and
lobby people in general for causes I believe in.
FUNDRAISING: I have and will continue contributing at a moderate level and am comfortable encouraging others
to do so.
FEEDBACK: Many of my friends are regular public radio listeners and I can poll them on issues. Also I'm on
several email lists of persons with disabilities in WI and can poll this constituency as well.
RESPONSIBILITY: I've managed departmental budgets at universities and chaired boards with budgetary
responsibilities. My dad taught me "If you don't have it, don't spend it" and I've found this to be good advice.
AFFILIATIONS: President Eau Claire Public Library Board, vice-president Eau Claire County Aging and
Disability Resource Center Board, member Eau Claire community cultural plan committee
