OCCUPATION: Executive level nonprofit management track record demonstrated through 22 years of service to nonprofit organizations in the fields of arts and culture, the environment, social service, and education. Currently employed with the Museum of Wisconsin Art as Director of Development and Marketing. Previously served as Director of Development for the Zoological Society of Milwaukee; Wiscraft; and the Ice Age Park and Trail Foundation. Chief Fund Development Officer for the YWCA in Milwaukee and Marketing Director for Milwaukee Public Television.

INVOLVEMENT: I have had the honor and pleasure of serving the South East region Wisconsin Public Radio Association members as a WPRA board member since 2006. When the WPRA board created a fund development committee, I was asked to serve as chair of the committee. In this role, I have been able to utilize my professional experience to work with other board members to help WPR staff with their fund raising efforts. Within the past year, my fellow WPRA board members elected me as Secretary of the WPRA Board. In addition to serving in these leadership positions, I have attended every board meeting, participated in a variety of SE Wisconsin WPR outreach events; participated in a legislative advocacy event in Madison on behalf of WPR and make regular financial contributions to support Wisconsin Public Radio.

WHYSERVE: I am a passionate advocate for public broadcast and an active and loyal listener of Wisconsin Public Radio. I began my fund raising career with Milwaukee Public Television. My entire family holds public radio and TV as a true family value. I would be honored to be able to continue to serve the listeners of Wisconsin Public Radio by using my nonprofit skills and my passion for WPRA's mission to further the goals public radio throughout our state.

REPRESENTATION: Since my election to the board in 2006, I have represented the WPRA at SE Wisconsin listener events at both radio station locations in Milwaukee and at outreach events throughout the region. As chair of the first development committee of the WPRA board, I have worked to initiate new strategies to involve board members to support the fund raising efforts of WPR staff members. In spring of 2009, I volunteered ,with other board members, to speak to certain members of the Wisconsin Legislature about the value of public radio in Wisconsin.

FUNDRAISING: One of the new initiatives that the development committee has created is to help the WPR staff to reconnect with donors and members whose memberships have lapsed. Board members are also more involved in writing personal thank you notes to donors and members in their regions.

FEEDBACK: WPRA board meetings provide an opportunity to connect with WPR staff members to discuss regional issues. I welcome any feedback from WPRA members; will act as a liason between the region and the staff; and perform my duties within the guidelines of WPRA's framework.

RESPONSIBILITY: As a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals(AFP), I adhere to AFP's Code of Ethics which is a comprehensive and internationally recognized set of standards that govern the conduct of nonprofit professionals.
