INVOLVEMENT: I listened to WPR as a student at Redville grade school (8-grade country school north of Withee, WI) and all the years since, expecially since returning to live in Wisconsin in 1976. I have contributed financially as often and as much as I've been able to for about thirty years, and urged others to do the same. WHYSERVE: I am deeply loyal to, grateful for and appreciative of WPR. I believe I could contribute to WPR's valuable service to the public in the coming years. REPRESENTATION: I would do so to the fullest extent possible at the direction and guidance of experienced board members and staff. FUNDRAISING: Though my own income is not great, I will continue supporting WPR as well as I can and will certainly invite others to do so, by word and letter as circumstances indicate best. FEEDBACK: I am deeply commited to helping WPR remain the great, powerful and popular organization it has become, both in terms of my own strongly held opinions regarding its independence from commercial advertizing (and the danger of influence by corporation sponsors on programming in general and political programming in particular), and in terms of actively soliciting the thoughtful opinions of others with whom I associate. RESPONSIBILITY: I will bring to bear my experience as a member over the years of various boards of directors of non-profit organizations in reviewing financial reports, setting budgets, overseeing the work of these orgainzations with a view towards fulfilling their missions, visions and goals, and always honoring the trust placed in them by their members and the public at large.
