OCCUPATION: 1964-69, Corporate Research, Owens-Illinois, Toledo, Ohio. 1974-2003, Professor, Paper Science and Engineering Department, U.W.S.P. serving as Department Chair and Paper Science Foundation Director for the last seventeen years.

INVOLVEMENT: Avid listener for forty years, WPRA member, attendee at events.

WHYSERVE: Public radio is important in our household.

REPRESENTATION: As a retiree I have the time for these activities.

FUNDRAISING: I am unaware of any endowment for WPR. I am a beleiver in endowments. I believe that many would be more willing to use a WPR endowment as a place for legacy or memorial gifts than for annual appeals. Gifts to an endowment keep on giving. I would like to see WPR have an endowment opportunity.

FEEDBACK: Of course I have my own thoughts on programming and am willing and eager to share my thoughts as well as hear those of others.

RESPONSIBILITY: As Director of the UWSP Paper Science Foundation I managed the financial affair s of that Foundation. During seventeen years I increased its assets ten-fold. My record there speaks for my ability in this area.

AFFILIATIONS: I am currently President of the Aldo Leopold Audubon Society (central Wisconsin Audubon chapter).

REGION: Central
